Samantha Dempsey contacted me in early April in search of someone to photograph her beautiful baby boy who was about to be six months old! She knew my work based on images a did for a friends daughter and came over for a consultation. We chatted for awhile, shared ideas and discussed the location. By the end of the meeting, we were both extremely excited to work together! Their session was set for the sunny afternoon of April 19th. It ended up being a bit windy, but other than that the weather and light were totally in our favor.
We actually shot at a couple of locations. We set out on a drive and just stopped over at a few different spots that caught my eye. The light was so warm and golden, it illuminated the beautiful fields of tall grass and poured through the metal gates. We did a nice mix of family images and of course photos of just sweet Jack hanging out and being entirely too silly! Lots of little spit bubbles and goofy smiles by this happy boy 🙂
We finished up the Dempsey session with a few images of the entire family just as the sun was going down. We had some gorgeous light pouring in between the trees and tall grass. I set the family up near a big tree on their beautiful quilts and shot casual images of them interacting as the sun got lower and the light added more warmth to the images.
I absolutely loved my session with the Dempsey family! They are an amazing family unit… so in love with each other and happy to be a family. They all just “click” so well together and I think it really shows in these images of them naturally interacting together.
